Do you want more balance, healing, and joy in your life? - JOURNEY TO HEALING
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a safe and gentle healing practice that encourages the individual toward balanced functioning on all levels - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It doesn't address any specific disease directly as it always addresses the body, mind, and spirit as a whole by balancing the system and re-connecting us to our inner core of wellness.

In the words of Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D., the Program Director of the Arizona Centre of Integrative medicine,"Exactly how Reiki works remains unknown, but research has found decreased level of stress hormones, improvement in immune response, and reduction in heart rate and blood pressure. Reiki can be used to address a wide range of physical and mental concerns"
(Dr. Weil's Self Healing newsletter, April 2008).

While science cannot yet explain how Reiki works, you may want to know that aspirin was used for almost 70 years before the mechanism of action was understood. What is clearly evident, however, is the beneficial outcome that clients report after their treatment sessions.
Any person of any age can benefit from Reiki, whether you are looking for maintaining health and prevention or trying to address a health issue.

Edita Atteck is a kind, nurturing, intelligent professional, who is dedicated to her own and other people's wellness. She has taught me so much, helped me in too many ways to mention. Her dedication to her profession is admirable, and I am blessed to have her in my life. Taking a journey with Edita, is to fulfil such important components of one's life that go unattended. I highly recommend Edita as a Reiki practitioner, meditation instructor, friend and mentor.

How does Reiki feel?

The recipient will recline on a treatment table or sit on a chair in loose comfortable clothing while the hands of a Reiki practitioner are placed lightly on the recipient's body.

The experience of a Reiki session is very subjective and can vary from session to session and person to person. Some of the examples include deep relaxation, relief of pain, greater centeredness.

Reiki has no medical contraindications and it can be used as a complement to conventional and alternative therapies

Reiki is used in many prestigious hospitals (especially in the USA) such as Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and Yale-New Haven hospital in Connecticut.

Reiki has been used during open-heart surgery performed by Mehmed Oz, M.D., a renowned cardiac surgeon on staff at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Oz collaborated with a well respected Reiki master from New York City, Pamela Miles, during open-heart surgery.

Since Reiki is an unregulated practice, it was important for me to find a direction that allows for collaboration with the scientific community and practice with an integrative approach with conventional medicine and other healing modalities.  I found the direction that is close to my heart through Pamela's guidance.

Dr. Oz and Pamela Miles introduced Reiki nationwide on Wednesday, January 06, 2010.
